Words from Home
by Dr. Perry Hancock President & CEO
During World War II, at Christmas, a well-known missionary to India wrote in one of his devotionals, “As Christians we should not say in dismay: ‘Look what our world has come to,’ but in delight we should say, ‘Look what has come to our world.’”
Today, many of us, as believers, are concerned about what’s happening in our world. But we need to remember that instead of focusing on what our world has come to, we should focus on what (who) has come to our world. Christmas is about the incredible decision of God to come and be with us. “The Word was made flesh and lived among us.”
When our children come to the Home, in their hearts they say, “Look at what my world has come to. I’m having to live away from my family. I don’t know these people. I’m afraid.” But as we share God’s love with them, they realize what has come to their world – peace, joy, hope, and more in Jesus.
Thank you so much for your support which makes our various ministries possible. This past year you helped us reach over 3,600 children and others with God’s love and the good news of Christ. You are truly changing lives every day through the Children’s Home. Thank you again.
I pray that you and your family share a wonderful time of worship and giving during this Christmas season. May the Lord bless you as you have blessed the children and families at your Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home. Merry Christmas!
