As
I came to work this morning, I saw spring bursting forth
everywhere. Red Bud, Bradford Pear and Tulip Trees were
blooming on each side of the road that I travelled. The
robins are also singing a cheerful song with the possibility
that spring is truly in the air.
Spring brings new life, new hope and a renewed assurance
that the cold, dreary winter is coming to an end. It also
reminds us that new life is bursting forth all around us.
Only God can create this remarkable change.
Excitement is also building as we look at events coming
up in the next few months at your Children’s Home.
As Easter approaches, the children are preparing for our
annual Easter egg hunt. Approximately 1,000 eggs will be
hidden for the children to find.
On June 6th and 7th, our former children will be returning
for our Children’s Home reunion. This is a wonderful
time for the alumni to visit with old friends. At the conclusion
of the reunion we will prepare for the next day, which is
Children’s Home Sunday. Churches across our state
will be showing our Children’s Home DVD, praying for
our staff and children and taking up the second annual Children’s
Home offering. This offering helps provide for our children
throughout the year.
Campus tours are also very popular this time of the year.
If you are planning a spring tour at your church, please
put Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home & Family
Ministries on your list. We’d love to show you our
beautiful new Children’s Learning Center.
If you would like more information concerning any of these
upcoming events, please call me at (318) 343-2244.
