HomePlace,
a ministry of the Louisiana Baptist Children’s
Home and Family Ministries, provides love, care, and
hope for
homeless children and
their mothers.
Many homeless children and their mothers
are living with relatives or friends in temporary housing.
They often have to move from place to place. HomePlace
provides a safe, stable, transitional home for 6-12 months
at no cost to residents.
During this time of transition, staff and volunteers
help these moms with critical life
skills, job training, and Christian counseling. HomePlace moms receive a vast array
of training through Christian Women’s
Job Corps of Monroe. CWJC equips women through job-readiness and computer classes,
Bible study, and mentoring. The goal of HomePlace is to help families obtain the skills needed to move
from dependency and despair to a future of self-sufficency and hope.
HomePlace
Ministry is available to women at least 18 years
of age with children 12 years of age and under.
