What You Can Do

The Louisiana Baptist Children's Home needs you. Your support helps to provide numerous resources and hope to those in need. Here are just a few ways you can help the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home:

Sponsor a Child or Cottage

Dear Prospective Child or Cottage Sponsor,

Thank you for your interest in serving as a child or cottage sponsor. Sponsors are a great source of encouragement to our children and cottage parents.

We provide residential care for children ages 5-17. About 80% of our children are placed in our care by the Louisiana Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS). DCFS recognizes us as a foster care community. Most of our children come from hard places in life and have been neglected, abused, or abandoned. DCFS policies require that we maintain the children's confidentiality, so information shared concerning the children will be limited.

Our children live in individual cottages where they are cared for by loving, Christian foster parents. They each have their own bedroom and bathroom. We try to "normalize" their lives as much as possible and show them what it's like to be part of a healthy, Christian family. They attend public schools, participate in extra-curricular activities, go to church, go on outings, and take vacations together just like any other family.

If you wish to pursue this ministry, please contact Matt Coker, Associate Director of Development and Public Relations, at mcoker@lbch.org or (318) 343-2244 and he will match you with a child or cottage in need of your sponsorship.

Become a Christmas Sponsor

You may sponsor a child or a family at Christmas and help provide their Christmas gifts. Be a HopeBuilder Monthly Sponsor

Heroes protect the vulnerable, restore the broken, and bring hope in desperate situations. At Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, we believe every child who has been neglected, abused, or abandoned needs a hero. Our cottage parents, social workers, counselors, and other staff are everyday heroes who point children in our care to the Ultimate Hero - Jesus Christ. Our HopeBuilder Monthly Sponsor Program gives YOU the opportunity to be a hero to our children too!

When you become a "HopeBuilder," you join a special group of people making monthly investments in the lives of precious children, providing them with love, care, and hope in Christ. God uses HopeBuilders to rebuild the foundation of trust and hope in the lives of children who come to us from some really hard places in life.

As a HopeBuilder, you have the satisfaction of knowing that 100% of your monthly gifts are going to meet the essential needs that directly impact the children and families we serve. These needs include food, clothing, medical care, education, and counseling.

How It Works

Click on the GIVE NOW button at www.lbch.org. Set up recurring monthly gifts ($10 minimum) using Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card, American Express, Debit Card, or E-Check. Simply put HopeBuilder in the comment section. It's that easy!

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11).

Provide a Special Event

Churches and other organizations may provide special events for our children. Special event sponsors may provide seasonal parties, pizza & games, arts & crafts, recreational events, musical performances, and outings such as skating, bowling, and trips to an area park. If you are interested in providing a special event, please contact Matt Hancock, Director of Campus Life, at or matt@lbch.org or (318) 343-2244.
