Summer at the Children’s Home is always filled with fun, joy, and laughter. The children enjoy special activities on campus, Vacation Bible School, church camps, cottage vacations and more. Thank you for giving them a great summer of wonderful memories.

After serving for 20 years at LBCH, the greatest blessing for me is the joy and laughter of the children. When you know their life stories, the abuse and neglect they have experienced, their laughter is like sweet music to our ears. Instead of tears, they have smiles. Instead of worry, they have peace. Instead of despair, they have hope. They know that they are loved. They know that they are not alone. Some of them for the first time in their lives feel a sense of value and worth. They experience healing in their minds and hearts.

Most importantly, they learn that God has a great plan for their lives in Jesus Christ. Every summer, because of the Christian camps and VBS, many of our children accept Jesus as their Savior. They make genuine faith commitments that forever change their lives. That’s when we see the greatest joy.

I have to take this time to thank our churches and those of you who provided your generous support this summer through the annual Children’s Home Sunday Offering and through your VBS offerings. Your gifts of love are meeting so many important needs for our children.

As we look forward to the rest of this year and into 2024, we are excited to see what God is going to do. We believe that He will continue to change lives through our ministries to homeless children and their mothers, foster children, and orphans in Haiti. We are praying that He will prepare economically-challenged women with job skills and life skills through our Women’s Learning Center. We trust that He will continue to bring a sense of peace and healing to hundreds through our Granberry Counseling Centers. And we believe that He will help us reach thousands with the good news of Jesus through our growing Compassion for Kids ministry.

Thank you again for the joy and laughter of our children. Without your generous financial support, most of them would not be able to experience what it’s like to just be a kid. But because of your love and care, they are growing up in a Christian home that is giving them a future filled with hope. Thank you again. God bless.
