Remember the excitement you felt as a child when a new school year was just around the corner? New clothes. A cool backpack. Fresh school supplies. I can still remember the smell of a brand-new box of crayons and sharpened No. 2 pencils. I couldn’t wait to find out who my teacher would be and reconnect with friends after summer break.
While many children look forward to the first day of school, the experience is often very different for the children who come to Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home. Rather than anticipating new opportunities, many are carrying fears and uncertainties. Some have never had the basic supplies needed to feel prepared. Others are entering unfamiliar classrooms and communities after experiencing significant upheaval in their lives. For these children, a new school year can be a reminder of how much has changed.
For children like Macie*, that story is beginning to look very different.
Macie* has been at Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home for a couple of years now. This year, she is excited about moving up to a new grade, seeing her friends, and discovering all that the year ahead holds. Because of caring people like you, Macie* can focus on being a child—learning, growing, and dreaming about the future—instead of worrying about whether she has the supplies she needs.
Because of your faithful support, children in our care can begin the school year with confidence. Along with the supplies and clothing they need, they have Christian cottage parents who pray for them, encourage them, and remind them they are loved.
Your gift today helps children like Macie focus on learning, growing, and dreaming about the future. Thank you for making a lasting difference in their lives.
With gratitude,
