Words From Home:
It is hard to believe that summer is almost here. The children will soon be out of school and life on campus will change dramatically. Summers at the Children’s Home are incredible. We have a great variety of activities, camps, cottage vacations, VBS, cookouts, and much more.
This summer is special because the children will enjoy our new gym and pool. The facility will be known as the RAC or the Recreation and Activity Center. Our theme for the building is “Children At Play – God At Work.” A wall mural in the gym features Philippians 4:13. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Many of you contributed to this important project. Thank you so much. The RAC will be enjoyed by LBCH children for decades to come.
Of all the wonderful things happening on campus during the summer, the thing I enjoy most is the joy I see in our children. Their laughter is incredible to me. With all the adversity and heartache that most of them have faced, it is truly a miracle to see them enjoying life.
Often, I thank you for providing our children with the food, clothing, and shelter that so many of them have gone without. At times I thank you for providing the educational support, medical care, and counseling that they need. I always want to thank you for providing them with the opportunity to experience God’s great love in Christ. Many of them are forever changed by accepting Jesus as their Savior.
But today let me thank you for their Joy and their Laughter because it may be the best sign of what you are really doing for our children – helping them to be kids, just normal kids who have all the physical, emotional, and spiritual support they need to enjoy life at a place they can call Home. God bless you all.
