125TH ANNIVERSARY
Hello 2025!

Download HomeNews - January and February 2025

Psalm 68:6 reminds us, “God provides families for those who are alone.” At the Children’s Home this powerful truth fuels our mission to provide love, care, and hope in Christ for children and families in need. One way we accomplish that mission is through foster care and adoption ministries. This edition of the HomeNews is focused on our multifaceted, statewide Connect1Child ministry.

Through Connect1Child, LBCH offers comprehensive support to foster and adoptive families. We guide families through the home certification process, ensuring they are well-prepared to provide safe and nurturing environments for children. Beyond certification, we remain steadfast partners, offering ongoing support through support groups and individualized assistance. Parenting in these circumstances can be both challenging and rewarding, and LBCH is committed to walking alongside families every step of the way.

One of the hallmarks of Connect1Child is the extensive array of parenting resources and training opportunities it provides. From online and live conferences to practical tools tailored for foster and adoptive parents, these resources are designed to equip families with the knowledge and encouragement they need. Whether it’s learning about trauma-informed care or navigating the unique challenges of adoption, parents can find the help they need through Connect1Child.

Another vital aspect of Connect1Child is its focus on empowering churches to take an active role in foster care and adoption. LBCH provides training to help churches launch their own foster care and adoption ministries, equipping congregations to support families and meet the needs of vulnerable children in their communities. When churches embrace this calling, they create a network of care that reflects God’s love in tangible ways.

For Baptist associations of churches, Connect1Child offers a ministry model tailored to their collective mission. Our foster care and adoption specialists work closely with associations to develop and sustain foster care and adoption ministries. By uniting churches under this shared purpose, associations can make a profound impact, bringing hope and healing to children in need of families.

At the heart of our work is a deep commitment to the children who find themselves in foster care. Many of these children have experienced loss and uncertainty.Yet, through the love and dedication of foster and adoptive families, they can discover the security and belonging every child deserves. We seek to ensure that no child is alone—that each one has the opportunity to experience the love of Christ through a Godly, Christian family.

As you read and learn more about Connect1Child, please pray how God could use you to support this life-changing work. Whether by becoming a foster or adoptive parent, supporting foster families in your church, or helping your congregation develop a ministry, you can play a vital role in fulfilling God’s call to provide families for those who are alone.

I do want to thank you for your continued support of all the ministries at LBCH. Every day, you are meeting needs and changing lives in Jesus’ name. Thank you again. God bless.
