Foster Parent Orientation Meetings

The First Step in Your Fostering Journey

The Louisiana Baptist Children's Home has partnered with the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) to provide Foster Parent Information/Orientation Meetings for individuals or couples interested in learning more about the process of becoming foster parents. The Information/Orientation Meeting is your starting point for the fostering journey.

If you choose to continue toward foster parent certification, the Foster Parent Information/Orientation Meeting will serve as the DCFS required Orientation Meeting prior to beginning foster parent certification classes provided by DCFS.

You are not obligated to become certified to foster just by attending a Foster Parent Information/Orientation Meeting. This is just an opportunity to receive information and ask questions.

The opportunities to schedule Foster Parent Information/Orientation Meetings are listed below. The Connect1Child ministry team will also lead a Foster Parent Information/Orientation Meeting at churches upon request. If your church is interested in hosting a meeting, please contact the Connect1Child specialist in your region.
