Granberry Staff

As committed professional Christian counselors, we seek God's healing presence in the counseling relationship. We ask God to use our knowledge and skills to help those who come to us for counseling. Our counselors are professionally-trained licensed mental health professionals. Granberry Counseling Centers were established in 1996 through a gracious gift from Ray and Mary Anna Granberry.

Kathy Eichelberger

Director of the Granberry Counseling Centers

Kathy Eichelberger has been serving as Director of the Granberry Counseling Centers since July 2009. Kathy has been a pastors wife and served in many leadership roles in the local church. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has a passion to help people who are hurting and going through difficult life circumstances. God has called Kathy to minister to people through counseling, while at the same time encouraging them to develop an authentic, intimate relationship with Christ. Kathy completed a Bachelors degree, a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Counseling, and a Doctor of Ministry degree in Pastoral Counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Kathy is EMDR certified and an EMDR consultant. She also facilitates EMDR trainings.

Kayley Armstrong

Granberry Counselor

Kayley Armstrong is a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) and Provisional Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (PLMFT). She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and her Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Counseling/Therapy from Harding University, Searcy, Arkansas. Kayley is certified in Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) and is a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC). She has experience working with inpatient substance abuse treatment, serving individuals and groups with 8 to 40 people. She has a heart for working with families who have children with special needs and finds the dynamic of family sessions inspiring. She also looks forward to working with ministers and their families. Kayley is a Granberry counselor serving at the Monroe and Winnsboro offices.

Granberry Counselor

Skylar Artigue is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been trained to work with individuals, couples, families, children, adolescents and groups in a multitude of counseling theories including: EMDR Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Parent-Child Relationship Training, and Trauma. Skylar works from a Christian worldview and views the counseling process holistically. She desires for her clients to heal emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Skylar received her undergraduate degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in Communication Studies in 2012 and graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with her Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy in December 2015. She has worked in a number of different ministry positions throughout college. Skylar believes that counseling is the vocation that God has called her to, and she plans to be equipped in every way to help her clients meet their goals.

Granberry Counselor

Lew Eaton is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist with over 20 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families who struggle with the results of trauma, depression, anxiety, and marital difficulties. He received his undergraduate degree in 1994 and his Master of Divinity degree in Psychology and Counseling in 1997 from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He completed the Harris Infant Mental Health Post Graduate Fellowship through Louisiana State University (2003) with a focus on Attachment Theory. Lew is a Louisiana Board Approved Supervisor of interns working on licensure as Professional Counselors and Marriage and Family Therapists. He is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and a certified Emotion Focused Therapist (EFT). Lew has been married to Anna for 24 years. They have three sons.

Granberry Counselor

Orlando Madrid is a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC). He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Spanish and Portuguese from the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY.  He earned a Master of Divinity degree with Biblical Languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, TX, and a Master of Art degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA. Orlando served as a U.S. Army Chaplain with the Louisiana National Guard for 13 years, with two deployments to Iraq. He also served as a Federal Bureau of Prisons Chaplain for 21 years. Orlando is a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator. He currently serves as a deacon and discipleship mentor in his church. Orlando looks forward to serving Granberry clients at the new Calvary Baptist Church office in Alexandria and the Leesville office.

Wendy J. Leger is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of counseling experience with adults, adolescents, and children. She received a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Ph.D. in Psychology and Counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Wendy is a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor for Social Workers. Wendy has a heart and passion to work with people struggling with difficult life issues, including those who have experienced trauma. Wendy utilizes a variety of counseling models to help clients achieve their goals including Emotionally Focused Therapy, EMDR Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Story-Informed Trauma Therapy. She has a strong relationship with God and wants to provide people with the hope and love of Christ. Wendy is the Granberry counselor serving in Baton Rouge at two locations.

Abbie is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor who has experience working with children, adolescents, individuals, couples, and families. Abbie is EMDR trained and works with all ages with an emphasis on trauma counseling. She works with couples and is certified in Prepare-Enrich. Abbie provides parent coaching and is trained in TBRI (Trust Based Relational Interventions). She is also trained in other numerous approaches to counseling. She completed her B.S. in Psychology at Mississippi University for Women. She earned a Master of Marriage and Family Counseling degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. She was previously the Director of Child and Adolescent Services at The Well Clinic. She also worked at an addiction treatment center in New Orleans where she treated a variety of presenting problems. She has experience in working with adults with presenting problems such as anxiety, depression, divorce, self-esteem, grief, self-harm, suicidal ideation and other challenges. 

Abbie enjoys working with diverse populations with a diverse range of needs to provide people with the hope and love of Christ. She approaches counseling from an integrative point of view, utilizing both Scripture and theology, as well as the best research from psychology and science to provide the most comprehensive care possible.  Abbie is married to her husband, Chandler, and has one son. She has a kind, compassionate demeanor and loves to help her clients reach their goals and learn new skills along the way.

Joe McMasters is a Provisional Licensed Counselor under the direct supervision of Dr. Kathy Eichelberger, Director of Granberry Counseling. He has experience in working with individuals, groups, and couples, dealing with a wide range of therapeutic issues including Addiction, Anxiety, Depression, and Sexual Addiction. He is also certified in PrepareEnrich for couples.

Joe utilizes a wide variety of approaches and techniques from therapy models such as, Cognitive/Behavioral, Solution Focused, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Joe works from a Christian worldview and views the counseling process holistically. He desires for his clients to heal emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

DENA M. MELNA

DENA M. MELNA

Granberry Counselor

Dena Melna is a Licensed Professional Counselor (#5354) with 12 years of counseling experience working with adults. She is also a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor. She received a M.S. degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2012 and a M.S. degree in Psychology in 2003 from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. She has been Program Director at Delhi Hospital Intensive Outpatient Program where she provided group and individual counseling to adults with serious mental illness. She has also provided individual and group counseling to adults in Drug Court while collaborating with a multidisciplinary treatment team. Dena also has provided counseling to children and teens. She is trained in trauma, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. 

Dena believes in being client-centered and non-judgmental with her clients. She has a strong love for God and wants her clients to have hope for their future. She senses God’s call to help people walk through difficult life experiences and come to a place of healing. Dena is the Granberry counselor in Monroe and Ruston. She provides in-person or tele-counseling.

Dena is married to Jimmy and has two adult daughters, an adult stepson, and a teen son who will graduate high school in 2025. She enjoys reading and watching baseball games.

Mavis Collinsworth

Mavis Collinsworth

Granberry Counselor

Mavis Collinsworth is a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC). She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology, with a minor in addiction studies, and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, Louisiana. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in counseling supervision and education from the University of Holy Cross, New Orleans, Louisiana.

 

As a Christian counselor, Mavis feels called to help others achieve a better quality of life. She believes this can best be accomplished by sharing Jesus’ love and His Word while assisting clients on their journey to mental and emotional healing. Mavis integrates biblical principles with well researched counseling therapy models. She has worked almost three years with children, teens and adults. She considers working with middle school students her specialty.

Mavis has a strong relationship with Christ and wants to communicate with people how Jesus can bind up the broken areas of their life and heal them from the inside out. She believes God’s Word can show the path to freedom from addiction, hurts, and emotional and mental trauma.

Mavis will be serving at Granberry’s Alexandria and Natchitoches offices.
