Mavis Collinsworth
Granberry Counselor
Mavis Collinsworth is a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC). She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology, with a minor in addiction studies, and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, Louisiana. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in counseling supervision and education from the University of Holy Cross, New Orleans, Louisiana.
As a Christian counselor, Mavis feels called to help others achieve a better quality of life. She believes this can best be accomplished by sharing Jesus’ love and His Word while assisting clients on their journey to mental and emotional healing. Mavis integrates biblical principles with well researched counseling therapy models. She has worked almost three years with children, teens and adults. She considers working with middle school students her specialty.
Mavis has a strong relationship with Christ and wants to communicate with people how Jesus can bind up the broken areas of their life and heal them from the inside out. She believes God’s Word can show the path to freedom from addiction, hurts, and emotional and mental trauma.
Mavis will be serving at Granberry’s Alexandria and Natchitoches offices.
